It focuses on identifying customer behaviors and sensibilities and helps establish a context between the user and their experience.

It helps you set clear targets for the project by creating a detailed profile or persona.  For each user/group you want to design a product or service for, the empathy map helps you get a better overview of what your customers say, think, do and feel.
